Learn About the June 2024 Nominees:

Evans Run

Evan's Run is a 5K Road Race and 5K Walk through the scenic roads of Norwell. The objective of the race is to raise money for Autism awareness..

South Shore Humane Society

The South Shore Humane Society was formed in 1974 by a group of caring residents concerned about the condition of dogs at the local town dog pounds.  At that time there was no real effort to find homes for the stray dogs.  The volunteers began taking pictures of the dogs and wrote a weekly column in the local newspaper called “Around the Pounds” so people would know where to go to adopt a new family member.

Alices House

For more than 50 years, Alice’s House was a gathering place for countless individuals, families, and small groups who sought healing, renewal, reflection, and quiet space by the sea. John and Alice Feeney lived in this warm and welcoming Humarock Beach south of Boston for 40 years, always opening their home and hearts to those who had no place to go or needed support and comfort. In 1997, after Alice died, Janet Gibson, Alice’s friend, created a non-profit organization to buy this humble home, officially naming it Alice’s House and perpetuating its spirit and gentle healing power.

May 2024 Winner

Buddy & Friends Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization based in Pembroke, MA. We are NOT a shelter facility and rely solely on the backbone of our rescue which is fosters and volunteers.  We exist to rescue and re-home dogs that would not have a chance otherwise. We are the voice for the voiceless.

We take pride in educating the public on rescue dogs and the spay/neuter crisis in the south. We pull animals from McNairy Humane Society in TN and assist local animal control with owner surrenders.

Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats).

Our end goal is the same of many other rescues to provide a furever happy home to our animals.
All donations to support the rescue efforts are tax deductible. Tax ID # 84-4752460
Sharing our animals that need to be adopted, sharing of your ideas, sharing your contacts or resources, donations big & small, are truly appreciated!
Thank you for helping us save these precious lives!!
