3R Plumbing & Mechanical is a veteran-owned HVAC and plumbing company based in Norwell, serving the South Shore of Massachusetts. Founded in 2022 by an Army veteran and master plumber with 18+ years in the trades, we bring military-grade discipline and straight-talk honesty to every job — no upsells, no runaround.
Our story
Founder Ross Hunt grew up on the South Shore and graduated from Hingham High School. He served in the U.S. Army with the 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team out of Germany, deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
After leaving the military, Ross went straight into the trades — starting at a small shop in Quincy learning plumbing and heating repairs and beginning his apprenticeship. From there he added HVAC, earning his EPA certification, oil burner license, and home improvement contractor’s license, and working his way up from apprentice to journeyman to Massachusetts Master Plumber.
Along the way he built experience most contractors never touch: high-end residential work in Back Bay, the North End, the South End, Cambridge, and Brookline; new construction, repairs, replacements, and full renovations across the South Shore; and commercial projects including dispensary build-outs, medical and dental offices, warehouses, and industrial spaces for both private and public clients.
In 2022 he brought all of it home, starting 3R with a simple idea: run a trades company the way the Army taught him to run a mission — show up on time, tell the truth, and finish what you start. That idea became the standard our name stands for, and it still governs every job we take. Today our team of licensed technicians, installers, and support staff handles everything from emergency no-heat calls to full-home heat pump conversions — HVAC and plumbing under one roof.
