Repair or Replace? How We Decide
We do not sell equipment you do not need. When we look at a failing system, we weigh four things: the age of the unit against its expected service life, the cost of the repair relative to replacement, whether replacement parts are still manufactured, and what the system is costing you to run every month.
A fifteen-year-old cast iron boiler with a failed circulator is usually worth repairing. The same boiler with a cracked section is not. A twelve-year-old furnace with a cracked heat exchanger is a safety issue and gets condemned, not patched. We will show you what we found and explain the reasoning before you decide anything.
Repair it or replace it?
Pick your system, set two sliders. We use the industry “$5,000 rule” — age times repair quote — and we lean harder toward replacement on older AC and heat pump systems now that R-410A equipment is no longer made and parts are getting scarce.
