Trane Furnaces, AC & Heat Pumps

“It’s hard to stop a Trane” is a slogan that happens to be earned. For homes with ductwork, Trane furnaces, central AC, and ducted heat pumps are the durability benchmark — and we install them the way Trane intends: as properly matched systems, sized by load calculation, commissioned to spec.

Going with a Trane heat pump? We handle the rebate paperwork. Qualifying ducted heat pump installs are eligible for Mass Save incentives, 0% HEAT Loan financing, and federal tax credits — see current rebates for what applies in 2026.

Why the Reputation Is Earned

Trane designs and tests its own components — compressors, coils, controls — instead of assembling a box of parts, and torture-tests complete systems through extremes most equipment never sees. That vertical engineering is why Trane units routinely outlast their warranties. But here’s the honest part most contractors skip: a Trane is only as good as its match and its charge. Mismatched coils, rule-of-thumb sizing, and sloppy refrigerant work will drag premium equipment down to average. We install matched systems from a real load calculation, verify airflow, and commission with gauges and instruments — so the equipment can actually deliver what the nameplate promises.

Gas furnaces

High-efficiency variable-speed furnaces that run quiet, sip gas, and keep temperatures even — the reliable backbone for ducted South Shore homes.

Central AC

Matched condenser-and-coil systems on current refrigerant, sized from a load calc — see our central AC page for the full process.

Ducted heat pumps

Trane heat pumps and dual-fuel pairings that bring rebate-eligible electrification to homes that want to keep their ductwork and their durability.

What We Install

Trane gas furnaces, central air conditioning, ducted heat pumps, and dual-fuel systems — always as matched sets, never mix-and-match. Browse the residential lineup at trane.com/residential, or compare the inverter route with Bosch IDS — we install both and will lay out the tradeoffs for your house without the sales theater.

FAQ

Trane questions we hear most

Should I get a furnace and AC, or a heat pump?

If you have gas and ductwork, a high-efficiency furnace with central AC is a proven setup. A ducted heat pump heats and cools with one outdoor unit, and pairing it with a furnace as a dual-fuel system is common in New England. We’ll run the numbers for your house.

Why does a matched system matter?

The outdoor unit, indoor coil and furnace or air handler are rated to work together. A mismatched coil and condenser won’t hit its rated efficiency or capacity, no matter whose name is on it.

Is a variable-speed or modulating system worth it?

Variable-speed and modulating equipment runs longer at lower output, which means steadier temperatures, better humidity control and quieter operation. Whether it pays back depends on your home, and we’ll give you options at different price points.

Does it need yearly maintenance?

Yes. Furnaces and AC or heat pump systems should be checked every year: filters, coil cleaning, refrigerant and electrical checks, burner and flue inspection. The Total Care Club keeps it on schedule.

What warranty comes with Trane equipment?

Warranty terms vary by model and require product registration. We handle the registration for you.

Are there rebates for Trane heat pumps?

Qualifying high-efficiency equipment may be eligible for Mass Save rebates and 0% HEAT Loan financing. See our current rebates page — we handle the paperwork.
