Massachusetts pays homeowners to move off fossil-fuel heating. Rebate amounts depend on your home, your existing system, and whether you convert the whole house, which is exactly what we work out during the consultation. Run the numbers yourself with our rebate calculator, or read the full Mass Save rebate breakdown.

0% HEAT Loan financing

Mass Save’s HEAT Loan program offers 0% interest financing through participating local lenders, subject to credit approval. See our financing options for what’s available on a project this size.

Questions we get every fall

Do heat pumps actually work in a Massachusetts winter?

Cold-climate models are a different product from the heat pumps people remember from the 1990s. They’re rated to produce heat well below freezing, and they’re the standard equipment for the Mass Save rebate programs for that reason. The honest answer for your house depends on insulation and sizing, which is what the in-home visit is for. Our heat pump owner’s guide covers how they behave day to day.

Can I keep my boiler or furnace as backup?

Yes. Plenty of South Shore homes run a hybrid setup, where the heat pump does the routine heating and the existing system stays for the coldest stretches. Rebate amounts often differ between a partial and a whole-home conversion, so we’ll price both.

How much of the $8,500 will I actually get?

We won’t guess on a web page. Rebates are set by Mass Save, not by us, and they depend on your existing heating fuel, the scope of the project, and current program rules. Our rebate FAQ answers the common ones, and we’ll confirm your specific eligibility before you commit to anything.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. No charge and no obligation for the visit or the written proposal.

How long does an install take?

Most residential systems are one to three days on site depending on zones and electrical work. You’ll know the schedule before you sign, not after – here’s what installation day looks like.
