- You also get air conditioning out of itA heat pump cools in summer. For a lot of South Shore homes that is the part that actually gets used first.

We will say so. Ductwork, insulation and electrical capacity all decide it, and a straight boiler or furnace replacement is the right answer plenty of the time.

Every installer on your job works for 3R and works out of our Norwell shop. We do not sub heating replacements out to whoever is available that week, which is the main reason we can put a five-year labor warranty behind the work.

Questions we get every heating season
How long does a replacement take?
Most boiler and furnace swaps are a single day on site with our own crew. An oil-to-gas conversion, a new indirect tank, or repiping a mechanical room that was never done right can run into a second day. You will know the schedule before you sign, not after.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. No charge and no obligation for the visit or the written proposal, whether you book the work with us or not.
I already have a quote. Will you look at it?
Happily. Send it over and we will price the same job line by line and tell you honestly whether the first number was fair. Plenty of times it is, and then at least you know.
Should I just replace what I have, or look at a heat pump?
It depends on your ductwork, insulation, electrical capacity and how the house is laid out — and on whether the rebates change the maths for you. We install boilers, furnaces and heat pumps, so we have no reason to push you either way. Ask on the estimate and you will get a straight comparison.
Can you do it in the winter, or should I wait?
We replace heating systems all winter. But an emergency replacement in February costs more and leaves you no time to choose equipment — you take what fits and what is in stock. Planning it now is the cheaper version of the same job.
